Formed in August 2017, The TPK Group (The Peppiest Kids) is a true 100% volunteer organization made up of former staff of Friendly House and Hidden Hollow Camp.  Friendly House made a significant difference to the persons we are today. Our mission is to support the mission of Friendly House and Hidden Hollow Camp through volunteerism and fundraising efforts.  To be involved with the volunteerism and events with TPK, please contact Greg Mead<\/strong><\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2026 EVENTS – CALLING ALL COUNSELORS and FRIENDS!<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All three events below are FREE and LUNCH PROVIDED – please let us know you are coming by completing<\/strong> RSVP LINK<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Woodshop Day \u2013 April 18th<\/sup> starting at 9:00 AM \u2013 10 volunteers needed \u2013 rain or shine \u2013 Lead is Ms. Jen<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Activities:<\/em>  Clean and organize, inventory current supplies, build pony wall, cut project wood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supplies Needed:<\/em>  Wood for projects, shop vac, brooms, dust pans, wood for pony wall, tools<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Possible Camper Projects:<\/em>  bird house, pencil holder, race car blocks, candle sticks, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Extra:<\/em> Depending upon how many people attend we may also work on lane clean up from the windstorm.  This would require brush to be moved off the sides of the road, possibly some downed trees to be cut into smaller pieces, or limbs to be cut off downed trunks.  May also need leaf blower and chain saw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cabin Clean Up Day \u2013 April 25th<\/sup> starting at 9:00 AM –  12 volunteers needed \u2013 rain or shine \u2013 Lead is Ms. Jackie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Activities:<\/em> Place cabin signs on all cabins, shop vac cabins well, cobwebs inside\/out, clean mattresses top and bottom, set beds to proper locations\/spacing, check light bulbs, open shutters, place screens in windows, check speakers to make sure all can be heard, place garbage cans in cabins (located in Hilton), place box fans (located in Food Storage Room), and kitty litter bags (located in furnace room).    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supplies Needed:<\/em> battery operated shop vacs, if not, bring extension cords, brooms, dust pans, bucket and cleaning supplies for mattress, pen and pad of paper, light bulbs<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Extra:<\/em> We may also clean the Mohican back rooms well, and possibly paint (depending upon weather, time, and people).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planting Day \u2013 May 9th<\/sup> starting at 9:00 AM \u2013 8 to 12 volunteers needed \u2013 rain or shine \u2013 Lead is Mr. Greg<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Activities:<\/em>  weed and clean up all lodge beds and containers, plant containers and front of lodge flower beds, plant walk around island bed<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supplies Needed:<\/em>  Greg will purchase plants from auction and deliver to camp.  Kneeling pads, gardening tools, gloves, hose, and water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main fundraising event for TPK is the Weekend Of Giving (WoG), which started in 2018. This event is held during a long weekend in summer at Hidden Hollow Camp and has met with great success.  Projects get done around the camp to improve facilities and give some areas of camp a much needed face lift.  To date, over $346,823 has been raised through both financial and supply donations; and, TPK has clocked over 6,747 volunteer hours equating to a value of $186,458. (Value of Volunteer Time report, Independent Sector, with the Do Good Institute<\/a>).  All persons in attendance are volunteers who donated both time and money to participate in the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2025 WoG Project – Fundraise to establish a new Nature Lodge<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\ud83c\udf89\" WE DID IT! The TPK Group is absolutely thrilled to announce that our campaign to fund a new Nature Lodge at Hidden Hollow Camp was a resounding success! We not only met our goal of $18,000, we exceeded it! \"\ud83c\udf89\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our hearts are overflowing with appreciation, gratitude, and humility for the incredible community that consistently helps us support Friendly House. This truly is a testament to your belief in the importance of keeping Hidden Hollow Camp’s facilities current and <\/a>programming fresh for all the campers who return year after year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A special shout-out to our amazing donors! Your generosity is what makes projects like the Nature Lodge possible. We were blown away when we met our goal within just two hours of launching the campaign on Zeffy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative began, as many do, during our annual Weekend of Giving camp walk, where TPK Leadership identifies crucial projects. Everyone present at that meeting wholeheartedly supported the Nature Lodge, and the campaign was led by the phenomenal Ms. Jen Brown. Jen poured her heart and soul into getting this off the ground and was instrumental in suggesting Zeffy, a platform that charges no fees to non-profits, allowing every dollar to go directly to the cause. We’ll definitely be looking to use Zeffy for future campaigns!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re now reaching out to our major contributors privately to see if they’d like public recognition. As we move forward, we’ll keep everyone updated on the progress of the new Nature Lodge at Hidden Hollow Camp!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
