BOYS CLUB
The Friendly House Boys Club, sponsored by the Mansfield Police Athletic League, meets twice a month a the Friendly House during the school year. The club is open for any young man in grades 4-6. There are limited opportunities in Mansfield for boys to learn leadership, citizenship, civic responsibility and community service. Lead by Friendly House staff, volunteering their time, we hope help the boys become better young men and role models for their peers. Participants must be at least 10 years old and/or in the 4th – 6th grade, with parental permission.
Through SERVICE to their community, the boys will LEARN the value of empathy. Not only will volunteering show the boys kindness, compassion and selflessness, but, it will also teach them a variety of life skills as well. The boys will be taught a philosophy of RIGHTS and RESPONSIBILITIES and how the ACTIONS they take create CONSEQUENCES for others, positive or negative.
Each meeting will include a life lesson, followed up with a service activity and social time. At the inaugural meeting, the boys will determine the club rules and the next meetings service project. As the boys learn and grow they will be rewarded with fun activities and local field trips and other fun activities such as model building, movie nights, weekend nature hikes, tours of Mansfield places, etc.
There is no fee to participate in Boys Club, but enrollment is limited. For additional information about Boys Club, contact Mr. Greg at 419-522-0521.
