Since the inception of The Peoples Mission in 1894 and when our organization became the Friendly House Association in 1912, we have been striving to help Richland County residents. Our mission is to direct our programs toward the strengthening of family life and character building by providing recreational, educational, health and fitness, crime prevention, preschool and camping programs to our immediate neighborhood and our community as a whole, at a cost that everyone can afford.
All Friendly House programs are kept at the lowest cost possible so those families that choose to utilize our services are not weighed down by financial burdens. For those families that are unable to afford the programming fees, financial assistance is available for those that qualify. As a non-profit institution in Richland County, we ask our families to first seek assistance through the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. For those families that only partially qualify or are denied assistance by ODJFS, Friendly House offers financial assistance for all of our programs. For questions regarding financial assistance, please contact our office at (419) 522-0521. Forms are available for pick up at our office or you may print from the links below.

The Friendly House Campership Program is designed to give any child in Richland County the opportunity to attend Happy Hollow Day Camp at a reduced cost.
Friendly House requires that families seek support through ODJFS prior to be granted campership funds for Happy Hollow. Camperships are awarded as long as funds are available. We will need copies of pay stubs, tax returns, social security benefits, snap benefit information, ODJFS support approval/denial documentation, etc. This is typical of all financial information that is needed for applying for any type of community aid or assistance. To qualify for a campership, you must provide information for all adults in the home, showing the most recent 60 days of employment or assistance.
